A Message from
the President

Edimar Costa
Dear Colleagues:

It is with great pleasure that we make contact again through the Newsletter of our association.
First of all I would like to congratulate the Newsletter’s editor, Curly Nortjé, for innovating the layout of this publication, making it very attractive to read. This is a proof that the editor and the other members of the Newsletter Committee use their creativity and hard work in an attempt to please all IADMFR members.

We would like to inform all of you that we are working hard on the construction of a nice and fruitful 14th Congress of our association. Important decisions have already been made, such as the definition of the congress venue and of the registration fees for the Congress and Pre-congress courses, the venue for the opening ceremony, the official airline of the Congress, etc.

At the present moment, we are carefully working on the scientific and social programs of the meeting, trying to make both as attractive as possible, to provide you with a pleasant stay in our country, more specifically in this piece of land blessed by God called Florianópolis, also known as the “Island of Magic”. We wish to make your days in our company a real magical and unforgettable experience. This is our aim.

Soon we will be posting on our website (www.iadmfr-brasil.ufsc.br) the information you will need to make your registration and plan your trip. Also we will be mailing to you information on what we are preparing for the Congress.

Finally, we also take this opportunity to inform you that we will be attending the 4th Latin-American Meeting of the IADMFR, a regional event presided by Dr. Hugo Dagum

(Regional Director for South America) that will take place in Buenos Aires – Argentina, on June 20-21. One week later we will be attending the 10th Meeting of the Brazilian Association of Oral Radiology, in Rio de Janeiro – Brasil. One of our goals, in both of these events, besides promoting the 14th Congress, is to bring as many new members to IADMFR as possible.

Best wishes from Florianópolis,
Edemir Costa
