For
the next two years, my responsibility increases to a great extent. Being head
of IADMFR means, first and foremost, to support the different segments of
the Association in order to continue the excellent job done so far. To make
this possible, we need the co-operation of each and every person involved
with our Association, including directors and individual members. An Association
such as ours can only work properly if an integration if an integration of
these two components exists. Our objective should be one and solely one: the
strengthening of Dentomaxillofacial Radiology around the world.
To help us achieve our goal, we would like to ask you to work locally in your
area, in an effort to bring new colleagues to our Association. If we are more
numerous, there is no doubt we will be better represented, and the technical-scientific
benefits derived from the members activities will be much greater. During
the Board of Directors meeting in Glasgow, the creation of a new membership
category the so-called institutional member was discussed. This
category would represent National Radiology Associations from different countries
being members of IADMFR. This would likely result in a closer contact between
Radiologists from these countries and IADMFR, therefore also contributing
to its growth.
Another responsibility we face is to organize the 14th Congress, to be held
from May 19 to 23, 2003, in the magic island of Florianópolis, Brazil.
This is another project of IADMFR, the success of which depends once again
on its members. We should not forget that an International Congress is the
climax of the Associations activities, where we have the opportunity
to both present and learn about new developments and technical advancements
in our specialty, besides being able to share moments of great joy with our
colleagues. We can have a perfect example of this with our recent meeting
in Glasgow.
The world needs peace and the union of people from all nations. Let us do
our part, making DentoMaxilloFacial-Radiology a specialty with no frontiers
between members.
We count on your support!
